Good Morning,
I have shared this technique on the Fancy Pants Blog, but I thought I would share it here, too. This can definitely be achieved with other adhesive, but the Xyron makes this seamless. I do not have to worry about bumps, and lumps of glue, etc. One simple layer of adhesive, and I can achieve a flawless, sparkly look every time!
You will need three things for this tutorial:
1.Diamond Dust or favorite glitter {I tend to use Diamond Dust because it is chunky, and very sparkly!
2.Xyron Machine {appropriate size for the desired element} Using the Permanent Adhesive Cartridge
3.Stamped text/images, preprinted titles, paper strips, borders, or chipboard embellishments. Anything you want to add a little sparkle.
Let me start off by saying how much I love my Xyron!! I used this little machine almost every time I papercraft. I never go to a crop without my tiny "X." I am very excited about the Creatopia! I cannot wait to see it in action!
Sparkle It Technique (3 simple steps)
First Step:
1. Run your desired embellishment face down through the Xyron. Get creative, and gather your favorite element to add just the perfect amount of shine!
You want to ensure the item that you would like to apply glitter is face down, as you guide it through the Xyron. I love my bigger machine, because as you can see, I can run many items at one time. I can even slip in chipboard embellishments.
Second Super Easy Step:
2. Remove backing, and get ready to make them sparkle.
Third Step:
3. Apply Diamond Dust with adhesive side face up, to add instant sparkle!
Dust entire image with glitter, and you will have this:
It just add such a great texture, and shine on your embellishments. I love using this technique, especially at Valentine's, and the Christmas Season. How easy is this???
So simple, but adds just the right amount of sparkle to your projects! I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
