Sneak Peek of Upcoming Class {Timeless Treasures}

Happy Friday! I am so happy it is here! We have experienced a busy week! We were a bit overscheduled in all areas, but thankfully, I see some downtime!
Well, not for me anyway(; I am busy today wrapping a couple of assignments, and finishing upcoming mini albums.

I do have a sneak peek of an upcoming class at Timeless. It is an inspiration shadowbox that has been on my to do list for awhile. I love the new collection Follow Your Heart by My Mind's Eye. It was perfect for what I envisoned. If you live in Orange County, be sure to stop over at Timeless this Sunday, April 22 from 2PM-4PM. All of the instructors will be previewing their upcoming classes, and I for one cannot wait to see what they came up with!

Summer is here again {Fancy Pants Summer Soul}

Happy Thursday!

Today marks the first day of our official spring break! So thankful for a few days to spend with my kids. We do not have any special plans. We are simply going to enjoy a bit of downtime. I am definitely looking forward to a week without a set agenda(;

Today, I wanted to share with you a page I created with Fancy Pants Summer Soul collection. These colors are perfect for for welcoming summer! These are happy, and bright colors! Colors I tend to gravitate toward.

These are more photos taken at a resort last year. Gabi's best friend invited us to spend a day with them. They had a wonderful water park, and the kids had a great time! I was glad to simply look, and take photos. I am not a big fan of water! LOL
a few details:

I created a banner along the top of the page, using one of my favorite Martha Stewart punches. The sun tucked behind the photo is one of Fancy Pants newest mini stamps, called Star burst. You can find it here at Two Peas.I stamped the image, and then using my Xyron, added glitter on the top.

The photo of Macie inspired my confetti sun I created in the corner. I love that it created movement to my page, and again used the starburst stamp for my sun. I cannot create a page without a bit of texture, so the sun rests on layers of embossed papers.

Remember the Titans Mini Album {Teresa Collins Sports II}

Creating mini albums is one of my favorite papercrafts to create. Combine this with my love of Teresa Collins products, equals scrapbook happiness!! I want to give a BIG thank you to Teresa Collins for featuring my mini on her blog! I have been a huge fan of her, and her product for a very long time. 

I met her briefly in January, when she came to teach a class at Timeless. She is so sweet, and amazingly talented! I have always been drawn to her products, because of her clean designs. I love that she uses word art to design her product. She also offers bling, and who does not love a little bling on their products?? 

I will admit, that perhaps my favorite line from her collections, is the Sports Line. I was so excited to see a whole new collection, with a whole lot of fun product. The colors she uses are traditional, and can be used to document any sport. Sports II Edition, is bold, and full of traditional colors! 

One of the things I wanted to create with this line, was a mini album for my son. Roman, played his first year of tackle football last year. I wanted to create a mini, that would capture a snapshot of his first season. I cannot explain how proud I felt when I saw him play last year. Now, as I look at his album, all the memories come rushing back. Roman loved his book, and we are both looking forward to football season! Game On!!

I used the 12x12 Teresa Collins Canvas Paper for part of my title. I actually sent it through my printer, and the font I used was called Impact. This has always been one of my favorite fonts for sport pages. Of course, stamping is fabulous on this paper!

I love tying ribbon, and layers of embellishments on the book rings. Here I included one of the chipboard titles, and tied it with string on the ring. I also added a brad, on the metal star. I cut the prongs, and with my hot glue gun adhered it to the star.

 


The word football is cut with my Silhouette. 

I created three tabs in the book using the Tim Holtz Baroque Sizzix die, and his Matrix & Gridlock embossing folder. I love this embossing folder! It adds a little bit of grunge detail, that is perfect for football!

I love the addition of transparencies to any mini! I added a bit of felt, and used one of the diecuts in the collection to create a pocket.

Here I used a journaling card to include all the teams he faced last season.

In an earlier post, I have mentioned how I love using felt in my books. This helps protect my snapshot, if another embellishment is on the opposite page. I just want to add how I love this sweet snapshot of my son. It his after a game, and he had played so well! He was so ready for the next game, but first, he had to grab his after the game snack!


Here I will add another snapshot on the felt. I do love this Shield paper that started, and ended my mini. It is perfect for any sport you want to document.

Here in the middle of the page, this element has been cut from the paper. I adhered it with pop dots, so it could take center stage.

Merry Christmas Tags & More {Echo Park}

I cannot believe Christmas is arriving in a week!! I have packages to wrap, sweet treats to package, and we still need to visit Santa! However, I am not feeling overwhelmed, because today my children begin their Christmas vacation!!! Can you hear that?? Just me singing, and happy to know that we will be able to slow down, and enjoy the vacation as a family! 

One of my favorite items to create are tags! I love Christmas tags, and the special touch they give to a homemade treat, or a store bought package. I created the five tags above as a hostess gift. My friend, Jennifer, hosted a wonderful Christmas get together at her home! I decided to make these for her,and I hope that it helps add some festive touches to her packaging.

I created all the tags with theEverybody Loves Christmas from Echo Park. I love the bright colors, and whimsical designs. A little non traditional for me, but just as pretty!!!!

A few details:

I used a simple white doily as the base for this tag! Super easy, and so pretty! 

On this tag, I did a little bit of Stampin' Mixing. I used a stamp from Inkadinkado, and the Girls Paperie, to create the label.

I used the Snow Friends Stamp by Inkadinkado. I fell in love with this stamp. I stamped the image onto white cardstock, and used a die, to cut the image onto a smaller note tag. I wish I had the right Copic Colors to color the image, but I decided to simply dust the entire image with Diamond Dust. A word of caution, do not put your hand directly into the jar! LOL It really does have fine particles of glass! The finished result was the sweet image in a cloud of sparkly snow!

We were also supposed to bring a gift to exchange, along with our favorite bottle of wine.

I tucked a gift certificate to my new favorite store Pier 1, inside the glittery box. The box was purchased at Michael's. I embellished the front with a glittery snowflake, and beautiful pleated flower. I finished the side with another tag for addressing.
 

I could not resist topping the wine bottle, with this whimsical decoration! I found them at Pottery Barn, and could not resist purchasing a few! It does add a festive touch!

We had a wonderful time, and I am glad I took time out of a busy schedule to reconnect with friends. Friends are such an important part of my life! I am so grateful to have a few that I can truly count on!

I am off to make homemade pizzas, and it is Family game night! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and are able to sit and relax, too.

Thanksgiving {Gifts of Gratitude}

Hello, everyone!
Today, on the My Mind's Eye Blog, I created the following Thanksgiving ensemble. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite celebrations. I love spending this time with my family and truly reflect on the blessings around us.  I enjoy making handmade creations that reflect this season. 

I chose the Brown Lush Collection to create a bit of home decor, sweet treat cones, gift card enclosures, and an elegant card. The perfect color palette for creating elegant gifts, to show my gratitude to my family, and friends.

a few details:

The Brown Lush Large Damask Paper is so gorgeous to stand alone. However, with a few added touches it turned this inexpensive frame, into a piece of art that will find a permanent place in the home. The dainty doilie was the perfect finishing detail.
 
I had so much fun creating these sweet treat cones! It did remind me of my children's favorite ice cream!
I added bits of crepe, and a small wisp of some festive garland. Of course, the final detail was a sprinkling of glitter!

The sentiments are all from the Lost & Found Collection. I used this paper to create my Scallop flowers. I loved making these, and have rediscovered how much, with this project!

The beautiful floral paper paired with paper roses, and a simple white doilie, is the perfect card to share my gratitude with my friends.

Okay, I am going to enable you here for a minute. The paper roses were created by using this Sizzix die.



This die is a must have! It made rolling these lovely flowers so easy! It was fantastic on felt! (flowers on the frame were created with this die) I love it when I find tools that make the creating process, just a tad bit faster! So you can concentrate on the tiny details!

Finally, I created a few of these pretty gift enclosures to tuck a gift certificate inside. Also, here is a quick technique, how about trying Stampin' Mix? (Okay, I just made that up) LOL We all own so many stamps, so why used them alone, when stamps can be paired beautifully with another? On the "thank u" sentiment I used a Stampin' Up stamp, and the Portobello Road Boy Stamp, from the Lost & Found Collection to combine one sentiment with a bit more character.

Here the mixing begins:

First, I stamped the "thank u", twice. Cut the second image to create your mask. Then with repositionable adhesive adhere to the top of the first stamped image.

Second, using an alternative stamp, ink, and stamp underneath the first stamped image. Do not be afraid to stamp on top. (remember you have created a mask)

This is what it will look like when you are done inking. Now with the magic of a paper trimmer, you will now have created this:

How easy is that??? A technique I will be trying again, and again.
