4th of July Banner {Class at Timeless Treasures}

Happy Wednesday!

Today, I am sharing with you my 4th of July Banner that I will be teaching at Timeless Treasures. It has been a very long time that I have designed a class. However, I am ready to get back to doing what I love. This banner has bits & pieces from random paper collections. You will see Bazzill,
Canvas Corp., Pebbles, and Echo Park. I took some of my favorite patterns that screamed 4th of July to put this all together.  A perfect collaberation for the red, white, & blue.

This blog post is very photo heavy, as I created a banner with 10 panels. I also love the details that finish the final project. I wanted to share as many as I could with you. 

{I only had 30 minutes to assemble, and photograph. Sun was going down, and I was on my way to Roman's baseball game. My original idea was to tie blue tulle in between each of the panels. However,  I seemed to have misplaced it! LOL I still think it looks great without it, but will be extra special when I add it. }

4th of July Banner:

In this banner class we will be working with some of  my favorite elements: Vellum, heat embossing, rosettes, pinwheels. doilies, and lots of layering.  This will be perfect for your 4th of July celebration, and I hope you will join me in class as we create one panel at a time!

Details of the banner:

 

I love, love pockets created with vellum paper. Here I created an envelope to begin, and end the banner. You will find one more tucked in the middle, too. I layered with crepe paper that I ruffled using my sewing machine. I added a stripe paper to the inside, and of course added a bit of sparkle inside! 

 

 

 

 Now, here is another vellum envelope, but this time added it to a banner panel, just because.

 

 

 

Doily is white!  

 I think this is one of my favorites of all the panels! Just screams happy, and festive at the same time!

 

 Here on the tag. We will be playing with glitter, of course! Add in paint, and modeling paste, & we are learning a new technique!

List of supplies to bring will be given to you when you receive a reminder call about my class! If you cannot make the class, not to worry. I will have kits available with full instructions, and photos. Due to the detail given to this project, you will be charged one week prior to my class. I had such a great time playing, and designing this banner. I hope that you will enjoy it, too. However, time to put it away, and begin designing my next class. I get lost in the details, and this is what makes me happy!

Finding my voice again…..

I have had many intentions of coming back here to my blog. It has been almost a year since my last post. Prior to that, my blogging was inconsistent. It was definitely put on the backburner. I personally set a goal to blog again on June1st. However, I decided to stop procrastinating, stop being afraid, and just begin. Today, was that day.

I know many of you know of the life changing transition I went through almost two years ago. Of course, it was a very difficult, and painful process. My world was turned upside down, and I had to embrace the changes that would come. Although, I knew that ending my marriage was the right decision for both of us, I was concerned for the three most important people in my life. No parent wants to see their children cry, or hurt. You want them to be happy, and feel secure. They were my priority above myself, and they are my anchors that help me stay strong. I am happy to see them well adjusted, and blossom into the people that they are today. They make me so proud. 

It has taken me a long time to embrace solitude. It was difficult not to have them with me every day. Coming home to silence was hard. I miss their voices. Macie playing with her barbies, Roman talking my ear off about sports, and Gabi, simply being your typical teenager. I knew that they were safe, and well loved. It was my insecurity of simply enjoying time alone. It has been an adjustment, but I am learning to take advantage of that time for me. One thing I do know for certain, is that they have two parents that love them, and put them first before anything else. 

I am starting off with a simple card for you today. I had these red corrugated stars in my stash. I think they were there for a long time, just collecting dust. I was inspired by them to create a sports theme card for that perfect All Star in my life. I used an older star paper I found. I am not sure who maunfactured it. However, it complimented the stars perfectly. Pulled out the orange and white polka dot paper from the Pebbles basic line. Love this line, and I think I own every color.

All Star Card:

I normally like linear lines on my designs. However, I wanted to do something with that red strip of cardstock. I could not find an edge punch I liked, so decided to tuck under the Pebbles basic paper at an angle. I still want to touch it, and make it straight! LOL However, I think it adds a bit of interest to the card.

 

details:

I still love my embossing folders! I would be lost without them. A plain piece of cardstock seems boring to me. Feels like it has been left unnoticed. I did leave the blue circle alone. I thought I had added enough texture with the red star out of courrgated chipboard. 

 

Finally, used a stamp set from Stampin' up to stamp the All star, and the #1 sentiment. The brads are from an older Making Memories line called Giggle Kids. Do you remember that line? I still have parts of this collection! I miss them!

So, here is my first post! Patting myself on the back for simply taking the first step. I thank those that still  came here to check on my blog. Right now, I am hoping to blog once a week. I am taking small steps, and hope to be here more consistent in sharing my love for papercrafting. I am still learning to balance being a Mother, friend,work, dating, and everything in between. I may not have it all together, but I am getting there. One day, at a time. 

Egg Party {Pebbles Inc. Country Picnic}

This page went up on the Pebbles Blog yesterday, using the new Country Picnic. The theme is Easter week, so hop on over for lots of spring inspiration from the design team. I really like the finished project of this page. It is simple, and clean with just the right amount of details. I could have done better coming up with a title, but egg party will have to do.(;
a few details:

Love these corrugated chipboard letters from Pebbles! I used my flower die from Tim Holtz to create the flowers. Then cut the doily shapes from this paper. A small pearl embellishes the centers. 

Here you can see I simply cut a few strips from the paper to create vertical borders along the right side of the page. Of course, I added a bit of embossed vellum, too.


I cut part of one of the kraft tags to add my journaling. I punched a few random circles at the bottom, inspired by the dot paper behind it.

Spring Projects on the Pebbles Blog {Bloom Altered Frame}

All week long the Pebbles Design Team is sharing all kinds of wonderful Spring projects. I created a home decor frame to add a touch of Easter to our household!

"Bloom Altered Frame"

This white distressed frame has been in my stash for awhile, along with a blank canvas. I was so happy to see that it was a perfect fit for the frame. I did leave the canvas white, and simply used a variety of Pebbles papers to create this Easter frame.
Details: 

Here I did add some white felt to cut out flowers to anchor the sweet photo of my children. As you can see all the Pebbles collections work together so well. I think I used four different collections. Of course, I cannot scrapbook without my staple of vellum, so you will see touches here, and there!


I used two more egg diecuts to finish my title. Yes, I know grass is not white, but love how it looked out of vellum(;

The last detail is the mini egg banner I created for the top of the frame. These garlands are so easy to make, especially since I am not too great with the sewing machine. I used an egg die from Papertrey to diecut different eggs from a variety of  patterns.

It's The Little Things {Pebbles}

Hi, everyone!

This is one of my busiest weeks! So, while I have a few minutes I thought I would share a page that went up on Monday on the Pebbles Blog. The theme was Mix & Match Monday. This page was created with Fresh Goods mixed in with the With Love collection. 

I love the graph paper background, and acutally picked up a similar style at Timeless today.Okay, I bought five sheets. You can never have enough of a simple pattern! Love how it softens the page, and the fun colors of Fresh Goods really pop off the page.

Here you can see a closeup of my diecut title, and how I punched circles into the blue graph paper. I layered the heart paper underneath to follow the patterns of the larger punched hearts on the page.

I rarely used my own handwriting on my pages, but I could not resist using the chipboard journaling label.  I should have embossed it instead! LOL

Okay, time for me to get my kiddos off to bed. We had the carpets cleaned, so everyone is off their schedules, too. Tomorrow, is a big day for Roman. He has his first baseball game of the season. I will only be there for thirty minutes, due to a store meeting. So I am counting on Steven to snap a few photos for me!

Scraplifts on the Pebbles Blog

Happy Tuesday!

Last week on the Pebbles Blog, the feature was all about scraplifts! We each chose a layout to scraplift, and make it our own. For my page I used  the Fresh Goods collection. I really love the brigth colors, and the fun patterns. I was really drawn to Laura's page. She has a way of mixing patterns, and creating a strong graphic feel to all of her pages!

The Best Pout Ever

My sweet little Macie displaying her best pout one sunny afternoon. If I remember correctly she simply wanted to go to the park. However, I think we had another committment that afternoon. However, I ended up rescheduling just so she could play for an hour. It was a beautiful day, and I could not say no.

details:

For my page, I cut flowers out of white felt. Then layered them with different shapes of vellum. For the large flower I used this paper for the circle, and the brads from the same collection.


I really, really love these letter stickers from Pebbles! They are the perfect font, and love the color of them. I was hoping to buy another package at Timeless, but while I was working another customer picked them up! LOL

Christmas Cards with Pebbles

Happy Thursday! I cannot believe Christmas is in three days! Where has the time gone? I have been so busy working, since it is the busiest time of the year. I will admit I still have such a very long, long list to tackle. So if you are short on time yourself, here are a couple of Christmas cards that are simple to create:

These cards use the Welcome Christmas collection from Pebbles. This line has the traditional green, and red you find this time of year. I love the patterns, and I kept the design very simple. Both cards took me about 45 minutes to create. 


I used the standard card size for base with white cardstock. I simply mixed the bold pattern of the holly with the stripe pattern on the bottom. A premade embellishment from this package the was perfect for my sentiment. Of course, you can never go wrong with a red bow.


A felt layered embellishment layered on top of embossed cardstock is a quick, and easy way to embellish this card. I used the pattern paper that already included what I needed to say. Super easy, and make for a great addition to any Christmas gift.

Grateful Home Decor {Pebbles}

This week on the Pebbles Blog the designers are sharing what they are thankful for. I decided to create a home decor piece to share how grateful I am for my family, and our blessings.

Blessed

A simple frame using a canvas backdrop. I used Pebbles Fresh Goods Collection to add some fun details for the season. The photo is adhered lightly, and held in place with a mini clothespin. Each day, a new memory will take its place. 

I used the barcode strips from the bottom of the papers to add a simple border of the strips.Do not forget to save the barcodes, there are some great designs on them! To add fun movement to the frame, I added three different size pinwheels, layered with vellum circles on top. Of course, a white doily is the finishing detail.

Welcome Christmas {Pebbles}

Happy Tuesday!

Today, I am busy trying to unpack from my trip to Big Bear. Every year, a group of us head down for our annual scrapbooking retreat. I wish I could write that I completed lots of pages, but sadly, I did not. I was a last minute addition to the group. I was opting out of this trip, because I did not want to miss Roman's football game. (mother's guilt) In the end, I decided to go, and I had the best time just connecting with friends!

On the Pebbles Blog this week, they are introducing the new Design Team Members.You have to see the gorgeous page, Christa created! Today, I created the following Christmas decor item for the post today. It is not too early to think of Christmas projects, is it?

"Noel Christmas Blocks"

 

These blocks used the new Pebbles Welcome Christmas Collection, and it can all be found here, at Two Peas.

a few details: 
 

On the tops of the blocks, I added chipboard letters to spell the word, "Noel." I painted each letter with white paint, and then dusted glittered on top.  

For this block I used a storebought snowflake ornament that I embellished with paper, and a fabric snowflake brad.
