A Surprise Birthday Blog Hop for Bella Blvd.'s Stephanie

Birthdays are all about celebrating, laughter, and simply a happy time! I wanted to create a card full of color, and lots of layers! To add softeness to the card,I used my favorite textures: vellum & a simple white doily.

Even thought it's Stephanie's birthday, we have some gifts for a few of you lucky readers as well! We know how generous and giving Stephanie is, and we know she would never have a fun blog hop, without a few giveaways up for grabs too. So we got permission from Robin, who works alongside Stephanie in the office, to pick TEN lucky winners, who will each receive a Bella Blvd collection. My Mind's Eye 2 Year Blog Birthday

Happy Friday!

Today is a BIG day for My Mind's Eye! They are celebrating their 2 Year Blog Birthday! Of course, they are celebrating the only way they know how, with a GRAND CELEBRATION! 

It has been TWO years since they have started their blog! It is their Birthday, and YOU are invited to join the party! If you are just joining us, you may want to begin the blog hop at My Mind's Eye, so you make sure to visit each blog.

July has been a month of excitement, and a calendar filled with daily activities. Now, my children have also attended summer school, so this added another detail to the calendar. Note to self: please do not enroll the kids in summer school next year! LOL Of course, I am thinking about myself, because my kids have truly enjoyed every day! Especially, Roman. This summer he decided to take up a new activity, learning how to play the electric guitar! It has been so much fun watching him practice, and ask questions each day. Tomorrow, is his last day of guitar practice at summer school. However, I will have a SURPRISE for him after school. He will continue his guitar lessons, and he will be very Surprised! 

Now, I also like surprises, and I was very Surprised to find this Sunshine Collection in my box. I knew it would be perfect for this photo of Roman. The yellow in the papers just makes you happy! My son does make me very happy, and he truly has a heart of gold! 

This is one of the pages I created for CHA,and I am looking forward to creating with the entire Lost & Found 2 Collection:

I love the gold, and black combination on these papers! The plaid is my favorite! Since it was a page about my sweet Roman, I chose to create circle medallions as my embellishments. I layered each one, and accented with stars. Now, the layered brad embellishments in the package, can be taken apart. Do not be afraid of mixing, and matching to create your own unique embellishment!


I really liked the notebook scallop border, and used it to anchor my photo. This paper had a vintage feel to it, so I decided to use a filmstrip diecut along the bottom. I originally was going to layer a different piece of patterned paper underneath each window. However, the one color of patterned paper seemed to be all my page needed.

My Mind's Eye Spring Blog Hop

Good morning, and WELCOME to the My Mind's Eye Blog Hop! Begin this Spring Blog Hop in order, so you can have the secret phrase! For this hop we were supposed to design a layout, that showcases our word for the month of April. There were so many special events that happened this month, it was hard to narrow that special word. However, as I was viewing my snapshots in my Iphoto library, I came across the snapshots of Gabi leaving for her first trip without us. This was such an emotional time for me! How I made it through the three days without her, I have no idea! I missed her so much, that I showed up with balloons to welcome her home. (Note: I was the only parent to do this, so it may have embarrassed her just a tad bit!) lol 

Then as I scrolled further, I found the following snapshot. She was only six years old! She had  such a wild spirit growing up, and was very independent at an early age! So I knew this was the one! I know she is older now, and makes me long for yesterday! She is truly a blessing to us!
It is her time to SOAR!!


This page uses the vibrant Lime Twist Collection, Fly A Kite! This color palette just makes me happy! I love scrapbooking with bold, and bright colors. This collection has it all, and is perfect for the everyday!

a couple of details: 

Here I added a few details to the preprinted diecut, by adding the fabulous twine, button from the Lush 2 collection, vellum cloud, brad from the Holly Jolly Collection, and one from the Alphabet Soup Collection! On this element alone, I have used embellishments from four different My Mind's Eye Collections! Now, that is why I love, love their products! They all work together perfectly!

 
I added just a bit of detail to the cloud designs on the paper. Using my favorite cloud punch, I punched a few out of vellum. Of  course, I also added a touch of texture by embossing with the Swiss Dots folder by Cuttlebug!

Hopping With Adornit {Day Three}

Welcome to Day Three of the Adornit Blog Hop, and today we are celebrating Pink Hoot & the Fern Collection!  You could win the entire collection, simply by playing along.  
I was really excited to alter the Vintage Groove Storybook for my Miss Macie. She and her big sister, are very close, and she loves looking through our family albums. I decide to create one just for her little hands. In this book, I tucked in a few snapshots of her with her big sister.

"You & Me" Mini Album

I loved all the beautiful border edges of the storybook album, and the Pink Hoot Collection was a perfect pairing! I love all the whimsical designs of Adornit's patterned papers!

a few details of the inside:

I stamped part of the tile onto the large Cloud diecut. Originally, I was going to color it in with Copic Markers, but I did not have the right colors on hand. So the finished title came together, simply by accident, and I instantly fell in love! 
Word Glitter Stamping Technique: Stamp sentiment onto paper, run through your Xyron Machine with the sentiment facing down, remove from adhesive sheet, and sprinkle glitter. The finished image is so beautiful. I used Dazzling Diamonds on my title.(I will be sharing this technique again on a Christmas Card.)

Included with the album are 8x8 page protectors. A great addition for scrapbook pages, or to include an 8x8 snapshot.

On all the outer edges, I painted white, and while the paint was wet, sprinkled glitter on top! Little girls, and bling are a  fabulous combination!
 

Macie is always laughing! She bring so much joy, and laughter everyday!

Love this sweet snapshot of my two favorite girls! The Pink Hoot Collection had so many bold designs, and it matched the "loud" personalities of my girls!

Hopping with Adornit {Day Two}

 

Welcome to Day Two of the Adornit Blog SockHop!  Remember, that each day of this hop, you have the opportunity to win the collection featured. For today's project, the Vintage Groove Collection is being featured!

This collection was one of my favorites! I love the vintage, and retro feel of the papers! One detail I love about Adornit's papers, are that most are double sided! They also include solid colors, so minimal cardstock is needed! I created two cards with this collection, but I have so much product left, that I cannot wait to make pages with the remaining!

 "Cherish Today"

This card came together so easily, thanks to all the lovely sentiments on the sticker sheets! I created a cluster on top of the floral border strip. This was trimmed from the Vintage Groove Heirloom paper. I also layered a flower on top of the small label sticker. I tucked in a couple black punched tickets to add some movement to the card. I did add texture to them, by scoring lines across them. (I know it is difficult to see them, but they are there!) LOL

"Love Blooms" 

Again, my sentiment was taken from the sticker sheet. The sweet bird was also part of this delightful package. I nestled him on  top of a cluster of flowers. One of my favorite embellishments are tags, and I love to hang tiny ones from elements on my papercrafts.

Hopping with Adornit - {Day 1}

Woohooo!!! Welcome to Day 1 of Hopping with Adornit! Thank you for stopping by! If you found my blog through this blog hop, Welcome! If you are a reader of my blog, so glad to have you return for another visit! It is the most wonderful time of year, and what better way to jumpstart your holiday, than with an Adornit Blog Hop, full of inspiration! 

I was so excited to create with three collections from Adornit, and Misty's collection was simply full of vibrant colors,and lovely florals. One detail that I simply have come to enjoy with Adornit's product, is the artwork on their papers. They introduce such fabulous, and lovely designs on the papers. I tend to draw my inspiration from their gorgeous artwork!
With Misty, I chose to create a scrapbook page. I love, love the grid patterned paper. It reminded me of school, but it paired beautifully with the floral paper, and touches of hearts. This page has simple details, but it is full of memory, and happiness! Love, this color combination!

"Happy, Happy Together"

This playful page is of my little Macie, with the newest addition to our family! We are so blessed to have Sammie, and of course his "first" page needed to be in the albums! The Misty Collection was perfect for documenting the happiness of my little girl. We are still working with Sammie on camera cues! LOL

I tend to love dimension on my pages, so this paper flower has about seven layers. (embossing, and string are being counted, too) I began by punching a large white flower,  then embossed with an embossing folder, layered with another punched  blue scallop flower.  I used a journal sticker from the Misty Bird Sticker sheet to adhere over the blue flower. Journaling stickers can be used for adding extra details to your projects. They do not have to be used just for journaling. Finished the top with a punched heart, simple white string, and two white small flowers. 

Now, another fabulous detail I love about Adornit's papers are the phrases, and the preprinted titles. Here I was able to use "Happy" as part of my title, and to create a border. So  simple, and fast!
