World Card Making Day & Fancy Pants Challenge

Tomorrow is World Card Making Day, well in about one hour it will officially be started here in California!  Fancy Pants wants you to help celebrate! Fancy Pants is hosting a challenge to create a greeting card. Here are the details, so you can enter:

Simply create a greeting card with any theme that you would like. You want to use at least some Fancy Pants products. Then post it to Fancy's Facebook Wall between now and Oct. 8, 2011.That is it! With all the new collections available, this will not be difficult to do(:

We will judge the cards and select three winners to each receive a prize package. The winners will also have their card featured on the blog.

Note: *We will accept only one entry per person. Challenge is open to US and International residents. Entries are due by midnight MST, Saturday, October 8th, 2011. Cards posted to our wall prior to Sept. 30, 2011 do not qualify. We will post the three winners here on the blog on Tuesday, October 11, 2011, so be sure to check back then to see if you've won.

Here are two cards I created for the blog, using the Saint Nick Collection. After creating Christmas tags, and my altered tray, I was still in a Christmas kind of mood.

St. Nicholas Card

I love Santa images, and I could use this all the time. After creating this card, I think it would be perfect as a Christmas card? What do you think? The design is simple, and I think this would not be too difficult to mas produce. I would use a stamp image of the Santa Claus, because I only have one more of these 3x3 cards of him. I may just give it a whirl this year, and make handmade cards.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend, and find some creative time for just you! I have had such a trying week. I will not bore you with the details, but let us just say, tomorrow cannot come fast enough for me(; We have a full day of soccer, and football tomorrow! Come 7pm, this gal is putting on her pajams, and spending the rest of the weekend, lounging with my kids. We will sneak in a pajama day. We have not had one in such a long time. You know I love these kind of days. I will definitely find some crafting time for me, because pajama rule No. 2 states, you can do whatever your heart desires(; 

I do have lots of projects to share with you. I simply have not had time to sit, and post them onto my blog. So come back next week if you can. I will have pages to share, a couple of altered projects, images of the classes I will be teaching, and think I will throw in a giveaway at the end of the week!

Best Friends {Fancy Pants Scrapbook Page}

Today on the Fancy Pants Blog the rubons are the feature from the Summer's End Collection. I created a page using this transparency. It has been awhile since I have used the entire 12x12 sheet on a page. It took me about an hour to complete the page, thanks to the gorgeous details on the transparency.

I used the rubons directly onto ribbon, and the transparency itself.

beginning to look like Christmas

Happy Tuesday! I am here trying to finish last minute details on my upcoming classes at Timeless Treasures.It is beginning to look like Christmas. For the last few days, I have been playing with glitter, and stamping with some of my favorite Christmas stamps!

Tonight is the preview at 6:30pm. If you can, make sure to stop by to see all the amazing classes being taught by the instructors. I have seen peeks, and there are ones that I would love to take myself(; 

I will be teaching four classes, and will have samples of three of them this evening. I am teaching a double page layout, Santa's Workshop Altered Tray, and 12 Tags of Christmas. Here is a peek at one of the ones we will be creating in the 12 Tags of Christmas class:



My last class is the December Daily. This class is  scheduled for November 19th. The sample will be in the store soon.

I do have lots to share with you, and hope to post my projects soon.

tiny peek today

Happy Friday! I am super busy today with assignments, and wrapping up the final details on my classes at Timeless Treasures. Of course, a few papers I ordered for my December Daily Class may not arrive in time. So trying to figure out a Plan b. Anyway, it is all creative fun, and I will be spending the weekend crafting away. Of course, we have a football, and a soccer game tomorrow! I love watching my kids play, and I will need a break from my scrapbook room. It has been so hot here, yet I am working on Christmas projects! However, love, love crafting for the holidays. 

I will be teaching the following class, and I  could not resist giving you just a tiny peek. Can you guess what it is?? I created one for Halloween last year, and had every intention of making one for Christmas. Of course, I ran out of time. This year, I finished it, and cannot wait to display it among our Christmas decor.

Time to go and take advantage of the quiet time before carpool!Enjoy your weekend my friends!

Guest Designer for Little Yellow Bicycle & LYB Giveaway

Hi, everyone!
I was thrilled to be asked to be one of the Guest Designers for this month over at Little Yellow Bicycle. I have always been a fan of their product, and thanks to my friend Liz Qualman, I had the privilege of meeting Peg Berry. Peg asked me to design with the new Get Your Game On Collection. With a few atheletes in our household this was a "winning" situation! 

My first project I created is a scrapbook page featuring the Basketball line. You might recall I have mentioned Roman loves to play all sports. He does have his strengths, and a few weaknesses in some of them, but he loves to play. He is so determined, and really does his best. The most important thing I see time, and time again, is simply his smile! Well, except maybe when he is playing football! Last year, Roman played for the first time on a basketball league. I was so disappointed to see all of my photos were blurry! I will definitely need to be better with the camera this time around. He will be playing again, after football season.

Luckily, I did find this one photo of him, with a couple of his teammates. I really wanted to document his basketball season. So this photo was a great place to start.

 
I just love this photo. They are just waiting for thier turn to play. What I see is that Roman loves to be a part of a team, and loves being an athlete!

Spooktacular Boxes {My Mind's Eye}

Happy Tuesday!
Are you ready for Halloween? It seems I am still trying to adjust to a back to school schedule, and Halloween is right around the corner. I love this holiday, and I can safely say, it is perhaps my favorite time of year.

Yesterday, on the My Mind's Eye Blog I created a quick, and easy Halloween decor project. I used three assorted square boxes, along with the new Mischievous Halloween line from My Mind's Eye. You might also spot a few storebought items, too. For instance the Spider sprig that my Macie had to have as we were leaving the store. It was perfect as the last finishing detail to this project. So thank you, Macie!



One thing I did realize at the end, that it was difficult to photograph! I did use my "go to" technique of glittering two of the outside rims of the boxes. Glitter, and acrylic paint are a fabulous combination.

Happy Wednesday!

First, I am so excited to share that my computer is almost up & running.(LOL) It is working, but a bit on the slow side. It is taking me forever to upload photos! They are coming back tomorrow, and let us hope they resolve it, soon! Gabi uses my computer for homework, and everything in between, too.
Next,I am very excited to share this bit of Bella News with you! 


I love scrapbooking, and I am happy to have an opportunity to hopefully, bring Bella inspiration your way! A big THANK YOU to Laura, and Stephanie! I am looking forward to working with everyone on the team! It is going to be a fun year!

It looks like another day without my computer. Our Internet server is down for the second day in a row! Poor Gabi had to wake up at 4;30am to handwrite an assignment. She typed it first on her IPad, and emailed it to me. Unfortunately, I forgot to tell her about our computer issues.
Oh, well. I will probably spend the majority of the day on the phone hoping it is resolved soon.
I hope you enjoy a wonderful day. I will be working on assignments, and begin designing my next classes at Timeless.

My Mind's Eye Challenge 27 {Scrapbook page}

Back to the Diamond

My Mind's Eye has posted their new Page Challenge on the blog. The theme is "Back......" You get to fill in the blanks! I came across this photo, while I was unpacking my scrapbooking items from my trip. (I did bring a photo with me! LOL) I decided it was perfect for this challenge, because my son loves baseball! I think he was in deep thought in between innings.

details: 

I cut a tag using my Cricut, and used my computer to type my journaling. A few elements from Lime Twist are used around the bottom of the tag. I may even have a sticker from the Lost & Found 2, in there! 


Again, punched a couple of stars, and use the sticker labels as accents. Super easy.

In the right hand corner of the stars, you can see a  bit of the Wish Star transparency. I cut it into thirds, and used it to embellish my photo. I did use another small strip of the stars at the top of my journaling tag. The transparency overlays are great over photos, or highlighting journaling. However, do not be afraid to cut into them. They are fantastic to be used as details.

Okay, I have an hour before I need to leave for Gabi's Back To School night. So, I need to cook dinner, and proofread homework!

Welcome Christmas {Pebbles}

Happy Tuesday!

Today, I am busy trying to unpack from my trip to Big Bear. Every year, a group of us head down for our annual scrapbooking retreat. I wish I could write that I completed lots of pages, but sadly, I did not. I was a last minute addition to the group. I was opting out of this trip, because I did not want to miss Roman's football game. (mother's guilt) In the end, I decided to go, and I had the best time just connecting with friends!

On the Pebbles Blog this week, they are introducing the new Design Team Members.You have to see the gorgeous page, Christa created! Today, I created the following Christmas decor item for the post today. It is not too early to think of Christmas projects, is it?

"Noel Christmas Blocks"

 

These blocks used the new Pebbles Welcome Christmas Collection, and it can all be found here, at Two Peas.

a few details: 
 

On the tops of the blocks, I added chipboard letters to spell the word, "Noel." I painted each letter with white paint, and then dusted glittered on top.  

For this block I used a storebought snowflake ornament that I embellished with paper, and a fabric snowflake brad.
