Fancy Pants (Oct. 31 & Summer's End)

Hello friends!

I wanted to share a couple of pages I created with two new collections from Fancy Pants. The first page is created with Oct. 31. I really love this Halloween line, and love all beautful old graphics on the papers. 

The following page is of my three little spooks on Halloween of 2009. I think this was the last year Gabi wanted to dress up in a costume. Right now, I cannot remember if she humored me last year, or not. Oh my, I must grab a diet coke to wake up! I am not use to the 6am wake up call with school back in session.

details:

Journaling for me is always decided upon last. This is probably not very smart, because after all, journaling should be one of the most important things. However, thanks to these  cute journaling spots by Fancy Pants, it makes it easy to print my computer journaling.

Simple banner layering on top of the page. Originally, I wanted a huge spider, or bat. However, I could not find my punches, so decided to use this bat punch to add some detail to these strips. 

This page is from two years ago. It is one out of four, that I have of Roman at my brother-n-law's wedding. (computer crashed at this time)
So I was happy to find it, and thought it paired beautifully with
Summer's End.  Even though this collection has a very soft pallette, I think it is also perfect for boy pages, too! So happy to finally scrap a page of my son. It seems like it has been awhile.

a few details:

I kept my title simple by using a premade one from the embellishment pack. Layered it on top of a banner. I could not resist tucking in that cute chipboard bird onto the page. Roman truly loves seeing his pages,but always raises an eyebrow if he sees a cute bird. (he has also vetoed flowers on his pages, too.) lol


Here the larger bracket frame is part of the paper. I simply added the smaller chipboard frame to sit inside. Of course, I did add texture by using an embossing folder. However, please do not try this at home. lol I really had to use some power to get it to go through the machine! It worked fine, but I do not want you to break your machine. If it can be embossed, you better believe I am going to try it!

Two Peas: Design School {Guest Designer}

Happy Back to School to me! Well, my children started their first day! It was a short day, but they all seemed to have a great morning. All week will be a minium week for them, but it will be nice to settle into a more structured routine. I hope to adapt to  a new schedule for myself as well. It seems it takes me a full two weeks, before I develop a routine. Without the kids voices, and activity around me, I feel kind of lost. However, it will not last for long! (wink) (wink)

Today, I have some fun news to share. I was recently asked by Jamie Sorenson of Two Peas in a Bucket to be a guest artist for the newest class series, Design School! I was so excited to contribute to this fun series! My assignment was Repetition. Here is my project I created using the new Lost & Found 2 Collection. I received my box from My Mind's Eye, and all I can say is, "Wow!"

Lunch Time on the Cricut Blog

Happy Monday! 

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my children! I have mixed emotions about tomorrow. Part of me is happy to know they are on a new adventure. I am excited to see all the new things they will learn, and hope that it is a great year for each of them! However, because it has been a whirlwind of a summer, there is still so much I wanted to do. Time has run out, but we are ready for the next adventure!

Last week on the Cricut Blog I shared the following Back To School Treat Bags. They will find their way in my children's snack bags tomorrow. Sweet Mini Album via Random {Crate Paper}

Happy Friday Friends!

Today, I have my first tutorial on the Crate Paper Blog! I created a Mini Album with the gorgeous paper collection, called Random. Here is a peek at the cover:

I shared a simple technique to create "windows" in your book using basic dies. I filled this book with photos of Macie dressed in her Fancy Nancy attire. Well, I do not think the pink boots are Fancy Nancy appropriate. lol
The pink boots are actually hand me downs from her big sis, Gabi. They are still too big for her, but she wanted to wear them anyway!

Summer Fun Scrapbook Page {My Mind's Eye}

Hello friends!

This page was in the August edition of the My Mind's Eye Newsletter. This photo of Macie was taken at a waterpark. We were invited for a day of fun with friends staying at nearby resort! Lots of laughs as you can see, and splashes, too! 

My assignment  for this edition was to create a summer page, and I turned to the Stella Rose Collection. The stripe patterned paper has been used several times by me, and reminds me of a rainbow. I thought it was perfect paired with the polka dot paper for a page all about summer fun.


I never know how to use bold ric rac ribbon, but simply using it as a fun border seems perfect to me. Here it anchors my circle elements, along with my journaling block. I love the tiny clips from Tim Holtz so much, that recently bought two more packages to have in my stash.


Here you can see a little bit of the added layers on the flower embellishment. My embossing folders are never far away, and I never get tired of the Swiss Dots Folder.


A closer look at the sun with a simple chipboard banner, and another metal clip. Seeing this page, reminds me that summer is drawing to a close. We have been so busy with the move, football, cheer, and soccer practice. I will admit, I do get tired, but being able to see my children enjoy what they do, makes it all worthwhile. Well, except seeing my son run at football practice! Bless his heart, he simply does not like to run. Each time the running drills begin, my heart aches for him. I always nudge my way close to him, to remind him, he does not have to be the fastest! lol  

Okay, time to call it a night! Tomorrow is quiet day, and I hope to awake at an early hour. (maybe not before 8am) I do have another mini album to share with you soon, and a simple project for back to school. I have also been fortunate to have an extra Gypsy in my possession, and think it would be great to share it with one of you! So there just might be a giveaway soon. Stay tuned!

ABC Mini Album {Fancy Pants Off To School}

Hi, everyone!

I am not sure how long I have been gone from my blog, but it does seem like awhile. I am even behind in reading some of my favorite blogs. Hopefully, by the end of the week, things will be back to normal. I may not have been posting on my blog, but I have been creating. I am very fortunate to be working for design teams, that have been very accomodating with my transition. I still have a couple more assignments to complete, and then I should be back to a normal routine! (well, just maybe)

In case you missed it, I created an 8x8 chipboard Mini Album using the new school collection by Fancy Pants. I used the new Off to School papers, and embellishments for the mini. I am giving it to Gabi to document her year as a Seventh Grader. Still, cannot believe my baby is in Seventh Grade. Time is definitely moving at a fast pace.

Memories of You {My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Two}

Happy Thursday!

The above scrapbook page was recently posted on the My Mind's Eye Blog. I created this page of Macie using the NEW Lost & Found Two Collection. Seriously fell in love with the first release, and was so happy to see the newest release! I was able to work with the Sunshine Collection, and as always, the brads are an instant hit with me! I am really looking forward to my box of these new goodies! I hope you have been able to find it at your local scrapbook store!

With Sixteen Days left of summer vacation, it is time to get back onto a schedule! My family left yesterday, and I was so sad to see them leave! We had a fabulous time, and as always, a whole lotta laughs!  I am almost done with organizing my scrapbook room, but truth be told, it is defintitely a big undertaking. My sister helped, after organizing the other rooms. I was very thankful, but I did not want to spend all our free time indoors! So, my plan today is to purge a little bit more, and put away the few straggling items on the floor. I want to get some scrapbooking done, and finish the last few details on an upcoming tutorial! I also want to get caught up on my favorite blogs, too!

Pebbles Design Team {2011-2012}

Happy Tuesday!

I am still here, but simply enjoying the last days with my family! I hope to be back with projects to share by the end of the week.

Friends {My Mind's Eye Card}

Happy Wednesday!
Just a quick post of a card I created for the My Mind's Eye August Newsletter. This card uses the Stella Rose Collection. Super simple, and I will not admit how long it took me to create it! LOL I have never claimed to be a card maker. I am not sure why cards are a struggle for me to design. It could be the size, I am not certain. Oh, well it does have some of my favorite elements: a butterfly & vellum!

I am making progress in my scrapbook room! Yeah! I can almost see the floor, and my workspace is almost accessible. I hope so, because I have a few assignments to complete, and begin! Tomorrow is the big day! My family arrives, and I can hardly contain myself!

Mischievous {My Mind's Eye}

Happy Monday to you!

I am trying to settle into a routine, and I really want to know, what happened to summer? We are about to begin school in three weeks, and there is still so much I want to do. I do have family visiting me this week, and I cannot tell you how excited we all are to see them! My Mom, my sister, and my niece will be flying in from the Lone Star State, and will be arriving on Thursday!!! As much as I love California, it is so difficult to be away from family! I feel that I missed out on so much. For instance, my brother now has a new baby girl, and I have not had the opportunity to meet her. It makes me sad, but I try to stay connected as much as I can.

I have not seen any of my family in about two years, and that is way too long! So we are going to make the most out of their visit, and there will be lots of laughs! One thing about me, is that I am very loud. My father, my sister, and my brother, all have loud personalities. My Mom is soft spoken, which is good thing! So put my sister, and I in the same room, you are going to have to cover your ears! My husband will be in for a treat. 

I cannot wait to see them! My sister is coming at a perfect time! She is so organized. I cannot even begin to explain to you, how well organized of a person she is in our family. So I know, she will be a big HELP in organizing my space. Today, I finally get to spend time in my room, and begin the task of trying to sort, and put my supplies into new homes. I am hoping to simply have my desk set up, so I can have my workspace. I am missing my paper!

Okay, I could go on about my family, but how about a scrapbook page?  Here is a page I created with the new Halloween line by My Mind's Eye. It is called Mischievous, and it was a page I created for CHA. This is the last of my CHA projects to share with you. I did create one more page, but I was lucky to have it picked up for publication. I will definitely share when I am able to.

This line has the traditional colors of black, and orange, but with blue thrown into the mix.(Trust me, the rest of the papers do have blue on them!) I love this photo of Macie from two years ago. She was lady bug, and a pretty cute one, too! (;

details: 

I always love the chipboard sheet MME includes with their collections, and this one is no exception!  I layered the Halloween chipboard shape on top of a journaling card, with the date of Halloween at the bottom. I added extra dimension to this embellishment, by embellishing the letter "O" with more chipboard, and brad. The ragdoll chipboard shape was to adorable not to use on my page, and used her to hold this fabulous chipboard banner. 
 
In the upper right hand corner, I stitched a eerie spider web. Well, that is what Macie thought it looked like on her page. Created a spider flower for the center, and finished the element with string.

Okay, it is already 9:00am, and it is time for me to get busy opening boxes, and setting up my workspace!
