Today, the newest Page & Card Challenge is up on the My Mind's Eye Blog. I have been wanting to scrapbook the following photos of Gabi for awhile now. Once I received the American Made Collection, I knew it was perfect for them.
This challenge gave me the opportunity to finally have these in an album.
I love the new American Made papers. They are perfect for the summer celebrations, and the perfect palette for everyday, too!
Here is the page I created for the Page Challenge: {Perfect Harmony}
Now, this month's challenge is to use song lyrics on your page. My favorite song is Over The Rainbow, so originally, I was heading another direction. However, once I saw the photos of Gabi with Coke, I decided to use the Coke theme song for my page. Now, I do drink diet coke, maybe too much of it! My kids very rarely will drink coke of any type. However, I saw the bottles at the grocery store, and picked up a few. It reminded me of my Father who's favorite drink is a cold Coke, but it has to be in a bottle! I prefer a fountain drink myself.

I used the words from the theme song, as part of my title. {perfect harmony}
The diecut frame had another graphic inside, but I simply took my exacto knife, and cut the inside portion, and instantly had a frame. I layered a piece of patterned paper underneath, and used a Tim Holtz alpha,as part of my title.
Now, with a Fourth of July page, I felt the need for pleated flowers! They are perfect for the celebratory feel of my page! I added a touch of white seam binding, and very tiny stars as accents. I did use metal tags to layer on top of the pleated flowers!
Card Challenge:{Liberty}
After creating the above page, I wanted to create a Fourth of July card too! I tried to stay as close to the sketch as possible. However, I omitted a few things, and added bits of trim in its place! Pinwheels, and pleated flowers are perfect summer time accents!

A little glitter, glittered punched stars, and trim from the Lost & Found collection finished my card beautifully.
Now, to enter the challenge simply hop on over to the My Mind's Eye Blog. There you will find the Page & Card Sketch along with other inspiration projects from this month's Guest Designer, Misty Willis!
Thank you for reading today, and who is ready for summer?
Seriously? How stinkin' cute is that layout!?! And the card, too! Wow!! Love it!

This layout is completely gorgeous! Did you cut out the "perfect" in your title with a Tim Holtz alphabet die? I have been looking for a small alphabet die like this one.
