Fancy Pants {To the Moon} Little Man

My sweet son Roman will be turning the big "8" tomorrow! I thought it was only fitting to scrapbook one of his birthday snapshots from last year. I used the colorful, To the Moon collection by Fancy Pants. If you have not seen this line, it is a collection of stars, rockets, sweet aliens, and a whole lot of color! 
a couple of details:

How adorable is the saucer with the aliens? It is part of the chipboard elements. The cloud is from the design embellishments pack. To give texture, I used an embossing folder. With so many embossing folders to choose from, I very rarely will leave an element "undressed." 
 
My title is created with the To The Moon rubons. I also punched a few stars, and embossed them with an embossing folder to add texture. I loved this title, and it was fitting with my son's Birthday Wish List. I included this on a journaling card.
This year, his only request was a Star Wars Lego Set. He had me take a snapshot on my phone, so I would not forget. Luckily, a trip to Target this evening will grant him his wish.

Now, it is time for me to set the table for his Birthday Breakfast Celebration!

Remember the Titans Mini Album {Teresa Collins Sports II}

Creating mini albums is one of my favorite papercrafts to create. Combine this with my love of Teresa Collins products, equals scrapbook happiness!! I want to give a BIG thank you to Teresa Collins for featuring my mini on her blog! I have been a huge fan of her, and her product for a very long time. 

I met her briefly in January, when she came to teach a class at Timeless. She is so sweet, and amazingly talented! I have always been drawn to her products, because of her clean designs. I love that she uses word art to design her product. She also offers bling, and who does not love a little bling on their products?? 

I will admit, that perhaps my favorite line from her collections, is the Sports Line. I was so excited to see a whole new collection, with a whole lot of fun product. The colors she uses are traditional, and can be used to document any sport. Sports II Edition, is bold, and full of traditional colors! 

One of the things I wanted to create with this line, was a mini album for my son. Roman, played his first year of tackle football last year. I wanted to create a mini, that would capture a snapshot of his first season. I cannot explain how proud I felt when I saw him play last year. Now, as I look at his album, all the memories come rushing back. Roman loved his book, and we are both looking forward to football season! Game On!!

I used the 12x12 Teresa Collins Canvas Paper for part of my title. I actually sent it through my printer, and the font I used was called Impact. This has always been one of my favorite fonts for sport pages. Of course, stamping is fabulous on this paper!

I love tying ribbon, and layers of embellishments on the book rings. Here I included one of the chipboard titles, and tied it with string on the ring. I also added a brad, on the metal star. I cut the prongs, and with my hot glue gun adhered it to the star.

 


The word football is cut with my Silhouette. 

I created three tabs in the book using the Tim Holtz Baroque Sizzix die, and his Matrix & Gridlock embossing folder. I love this embossing folder! It adds a little bit of grunge detail, that is perfect for football!

I love the addition of transparencies to any mini! I added a bit of felt, and used one of the diecuts in the collection to create a pocket.

Here I used a journaling card to include all the teams he faced last season.

In an earlier post, I have mentioned how I love using felt in my books. This helps protect my snapshot, if another embellishment is on the opposite page. I just want to add how I love this sweet snapshot of my son. It his after a game, and he had played so well! He was so ready for the next game, but first, he had to grab his after the game snack!


Here I will add another snapshot on the felt. I do love this Shield paper that started, and ended my mini. It is perfect for any sport you want to document.

Here in the middle of the page, this element has been cut from the paper. I adhered it with pop dots, so it could take center stage.

Spring Card with My Mind's Eye

Yesterday, on the My Mind's Eye Blog, Spring Cards were featured by the designers. I created the above card using the Stella Rose 6x6 mini pads. I usually do not buy this size, but they do make it easy when designing cards!

This butterfly uses my new EK Success butterfly punch! I did cut the tops of the butterfly, and added stick pins at the top. The flowers are cut from one of the papers in the mini pack. They kind of appear like they have been stamped. This paper pack is definitely a must have. I am loving the yellow polka dot paper, and simply reminds me of Spring time!

We are definitely experiencing Spring here in Orange County. I just wish I could spend sometime outside to enjoy it! LOL I have been busy with household items! I hope to find some creative time in the middle of the week. 

I will be back tomorrow with a Mini! This time it is all about the boy, and for the love of football!

Pebbles {Mr. & Mrs}. Wedding Decor Keepsake

This week on the Pebbles Blog, the Mr. & Mrs. Collection is being featured. The color palette is full of traditional colors, and designs! The patterns are simple, but yet they are full of elegance, and gorgeous detail!

This collection is perfect for documenting your wedding, invitations, decor, or for those special black and white snapshots! Of course, this collection also has beautiful embellishments to coordinate. My favorite were the metal flowers! I loved these!

For the Pebbles Blog, I decided to create a wedding keepsake of my wedding. I have been married for over twelve years, so it brought back a lot of  happy memories, as I was creating this frame.

On my creative list, I have wanted to create a decor project of my wedding. I was inspired by a Flicker image that was posted to Pinterest. (Have you heard of this site? It is full of color, and inspirational photos of everything you  can possibly imagine!) It is like having an online folder of all the things you love! You are able to file an item, or image you like, and also from the site itself. It is very addictive, but so very fun! 

The project I pinned, was an open frame, and polaroid snapshots were hung from string. I wanted a similar project, but on a smaller scale. I added a few snapshots, and hung them from jewelry wire, held by tiny clothespins. 

I love this frame, and it has just the right amount of touches to remember this wonderful day!

Here you can see the metal flowers! They are so pretty, and are perfect for any type of project. I hung a few snapshots by tiny clothespins I have been stashing away in a drawer. I simply misted them with Inkadinkado Black Spray Ink. (You may want to wear plastic gloves, and use a cardboard box! Just sayin')

I am loving felt on my projects, and these flowers are swoon worthy! I cannot get enough this striped ribbon, and a little bit adds the perfect finishing detail!

These chipboard frames were also from my stash. I simply misted, and added touches of Pebbles layered sticker embellishments.

Here in the corner of the frame, I added a 7Gypsy knob to hold all the lovely layers! I used string, more luscious ribbon, key, Pebbles layered sticker, Pebbles stick pins, and Pebbles tiny white epoxy flowers!

Friday Findings{new stamps} & Timeless Make n Take with My Mind's Eye

Happy Friday!

I thought I would share my new Stamp findings! I love stamps, and was so happy to add these to my scrapbooking stash!  These will definitely be finding a place on a few papercrafts!

It has been a busy day for me, and it is only beginning!  I will be working the crop tonight at Timeless, and teaching a free make n take tomorrow morning!

Fancy Pants {You Make Me Smile} Mini Album

Good Morning!

I created this Envelope Mini for the Towbow, and Fancy Pants Blog Hop.(Blog Hop was actually last week,  but you can {Click here} to see other creations by the DT.) This little mini used the It's the Little Things Collection. I know have written this before, but this is my favorite of the Fancy Pants releases.

I wanted to create a little book for my daughter, Gabriela. I wanted to make a quick little book, that she can keep on her nightstand. I included some of my favorite snapshots of her. I also included lots of journaling. I want her to know how much I love her, and how blessed I am to be her Mother.

In almost all my mini books, I include envelopes, tags, and journaling cards. Just little things to add more detail to my book. On the envelopes, I always create an enclosure out of two things:  buttons, and string. This time, using Towbow's Fastener Tabs, it made opening my envelopes easy! You are able to pull them apart, and reach in to reveal the contents inside! I love them, and so glad to have them part of my scrapbooking stash!

Here are what the Fastener Tabs look like. They are so easy to apply, and you can embellish the flap with creative elements.

Here, I used the Sparkle it technique to add shine to the bird playing card. Because this element would be facing a snapshot, I added just a bit of felt in between. This way the snapshot is not ruined, or scratched. I have started to include pieces of felt in my albums, especially between snapshots.I have noticed if there is a brad or other harsh element across from a snapshot, it tends to scratch it. So adding a touch of felt, is a fabulous, and easy solution!
The little rounded chipboard tabs are part of the Banner Pieces Embellishment pack. They make cute banners, but can be used in so many creative ways!

Waiting For My Prince {Pebbles Ever After}

This week on the Pebbles Blog, they are introducing the new Ever After Collection. It is all about princesses, fairy tales, and anything pink! 

The following page is of my sweet little princesss, Macie. She loves all girly things, and loves to play dress up. So glad she still believes in fairy tales!

I used one of my new Spellbinders Floral Doily Motifs, to create the doilies on the page. This line is full of clean lines, with lots of whimsy details. Even if you do not have girls, it can be used for Spring, and Easter projects. 

I realized I failed to take detail shots, but hopefully you can see the fun embossing, a touch of felt, and the yummy white rose ribbon from American Crafts!!! This ribbon is swoon worthy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day {Marshmallow Frosting Recipe}

Happy St. Patrick's Day! 

I thought I would share my new favorite Marshmallow Frosting by Rachel Ray.

Marshmallow Frosting

INGREDIENTS:

• 4 sticks (1 pound) unsalted butter, at room temperature
• 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
• One 16-ounce tub marshmallow cream (such as Marshmallow Fluff brand)

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter until creamy.

2. Beat in one-fourth of the sugar until fluffy, then repeat with the remaining sugar.

3. Beat in the vanilla, then stir in the marshmallow cream until well blended.

This is tried, and true! It was so easy, and the texture was amazing. I normally prefer a buttercream frosting on my cupcakes, but I think this recipe will become a family favorite!
