Happy Saturday!
Yesterday, was a day of nonstop activity. I finally was able to sit down, and watch the Lakers game. Then I have been reading The Help, and it has proven to be such a great book! (Thanks, Shawnna for the recommendation!) I had planned on posting this post yesterday, but fell asleep at a very early hour!
Today, I thought I would share the sweet Valentines I created for Macie's classmates. I thought I would have until Monday to create them, but the teacher wanted them by Friday. I love creating my children's Valentines! I do have lots of crafty supplies, so it is easy to create them!
Macie's only request was a butterfly! So I had to figure out how to tie in a butterfly with heart day! I was thinking big hearts, but she had another idea! I knew I wanted turquoise, and red together! I love this color combination.
I found pink lollipops at Albertson's so this inspired my idea. I thought it would be cute to insert a big butterfly through a lollipop!
Macie loves lollipops, and the color pink! She finally, approved my idea!
With a few supplies, I had my assembly line ready to go! Macie helped by stamping a few tags, and writing her name on each of them!
All the makings to create bright valentines for my sweet little girl! The paper I chose for the butterflies, is by My Mind's Eye. It is part of the new Lush 2 collection. This is such a vibrant color, and love the polka dots! Doilies were found at Target. It was package of 48 for 1.00!! I will be using the rest for Gabi's Valentines, and on mason jars for the teachers.
details of the Doily Butterfly Lollipops:
On each of the butterflies I curled the wings just a bit!
In this snapshot you can see the three individual layers I used to house the lollipop. One is the doily, the polka dotted butterfly, and the red heart. I used a regular size hole punch to punch the heart, then inserted the lollipop. For the butterfly, and doily I used a simple paper piercer to pierce a hole through them. I used a tiny bit of hot glue gun underneath the red heart, and underneath the doily. Really just a bit, and everything held together well. I finished the treat, by tying a coordinating ribbon around the lollipop. Then attaching Macie's tag.
Here is one of the Butterfly Lollipop Bouquets! We made 22 of them for each of her sweet classmates!
I hope your Saturday is wonderful! Roman has baseball practice today, so we will be enjoying the beautiful weather.
What a fantastic project!!! I love the butterflies...x

Those are so pretty! My girls are very artsy and love to make crafts. I know they would be ecstatic to do something like this for Valentines day this year instead of just buying them. These are prettier and more fun anyway! They are currently obsessed with drawing on their easels ( I can barely get them to stop playing with them ) and making little cards and trinkets for their friends so I know they'll fall in love with this. Thank you for sharing!
