"All About the Boy" {Pebbles DT} & A Pebbles Blog Giveaway

Good morning! I am so happy it is Friday!!!! I have a busy morning, and I am hoping to have it all done by the time I pick up my children. I have Halloween treat bags to decorate, and cupcakes to bake. I found a new recipe, so I am hoping that they taste as amazing as the photograph! If they are, I will definitely share. However, I am not complaining. Creating with paper & glue, and making sweet treats are always at the top of my list.

This week on the Pebbles Blog, it is all "About the Boy." There are amazing projects created with one of Pebbles newest collections,New Arrival {Boy}. I decided to create a card, in the hopes I could give this to my sister-n-law. (Hint....hint.....hint...)

I think one of my favorite papers in this line is the Brand New Embossed Paper. I love the combination of brown, with the white polka dots. Seriously, this paper is a must have. I love, love, love this paper.
The star felt embellishments are also  wonderfully embellished. There is nothing to add to them. They are fantastic. I will definitely be buying more of these sweet little packages, of stars. (They are not just for baby pages.)

Time to bake the cupcakes!!! I think instead of cupcake toppers, I am going to create little monsters. (Borrowing this idea, from my talented friend, Alicia. She bakes the most wonderful sweets, you can imagine. She is very crafty, but more importantly, a very sweet person!!!! I am so glad our girls are on the same cheer team together. I wonder what she has in store for the Christmas Party???

1st & 10 {My Mind's Eye}

My kids have finished their homework, and they have settled into bed. I have some quiet time, so I thought I would post another layout created with the fabulous My Mind's Eye products. I was hoping the LA Lakers were playing this evening, but I love watching the Phoenix Suns!! So after this, I will be settled in to finish watching the game! I love this time of year, NFL Football & NBA Basketball!!! (Now, wishing the Cowboys would find a way to win another game! It has been very painful to watch! LOL It does not help, that I am receiving taunting emails from my sister!!!

Speaking of football, I have a layout of my sweet son, who began playing tackle football this year. It has been a fantastic experience for him, & us. Our head coach, and assistant coaches have been so inspiring!! I have enjoyed Roman's teammates, and the wonderful families we have met! Saturday, is our final game of the season! I cannot tell you how much I am going to miss seeing my son play! Yes, I am one proud Mother. I cannot describe the feeling of watching him play! He has been an outstanding center, and defensive tackle for his team. He has grown, and has started to really learn the game. I look forward to next season.

It has been difficult photographing him, because of the huge helmet! Of course, the mask is also interfering with my snapshots! LOL (Safety first!)  However, I did take the following that I love of him.

a couple of details:

This paper already had a preprinted title, but I wanted a different one. So I simply, adding some embellishing by layering the large ticket over it. I added another smaller ticket with one of my favorite punches, and added a stack of buttons in the corner. (Punch used can be found here.)



On my page, I wanted to document the emotions Roman has felt this season. So I stamped one word phrases on cream cardstock, and adhered them around the stars. You can see, I also used this embossing folder on the large circle. I lightly sanded over the entire element to achieve a weathered look. (This page was also part of My Mind's Eye Top Ten Monthly Challenge.)

Tickled Pink over {My Mind's Eye Fine & Dandy}

My Mind's Eye, recently shared their three new releases on their blog: Fine & Dandy {Tickled Pink}, Fine & Dandy {True Blue} and State of the Heart.

One of my favorites, is the Tickled Pink Collection. My favorite color is Pink, and loved everything from the paper, to the buttons, and to the chipboard elements. This collection just makes you happy. 



I created a scrapbook page for the retailer's section, of the My Mind's Eye website with the Tickled Pink collection. The following page is of my sweet Macie last summer. You can catch a glimpse of her favorite color, on her dress. She adores anything pink!

a couple of details: 

This patterned paper has so much beautiful artwork, that I kept the embellishing simple. I cut three banner strips from the 6x6 pack, and place it on the left of the page. Topped each banner strip with a colorful button! On the second strip I layered the top of the button, with a brad from this collection. The brad went through the button holes, perfectly.

Here I layered the following :a scallop circle,a couple of circles punched from patterned paper, a banner sticker, and the cute chipboard embellishments. Love that little bird. I layered the banner title right on top of him, and hung the banner sticker underneath to complete my title. 

I also had a chance to create a page using the True Blue Collection. I really enjoyed the sketch we had to work with, and will share when I can. 

Steve is off today, so we have a lot of errands to cross off the list. We might even be able to go on a lunch date!

Darling girl {My Mind's Eye-Alphabet Soup}

Today, my children were out of school. So it was a pajama day for us, until it was time for cheer, and football practice. We stayed indoors due to the rain, and played a few games of WII. I then preoccupied myself with one of my favorite chores.......the endless amount of laundry! LOL(;

Today, I have another layout I created for the My Mind's Eye Blog.  This page uses the whimsical, and adorable paper collection, Alphabet Soup. I think one of my favorites from this line, are the sweet playing cards.

I diecut a few flowers from denim fabric, and used the rest of the crepe ribbon to create centers for the flowers.


I used the playing cards for my title. I added a red chipboard flower, and rhinestone to the center of the dress on the card.


Here I tucked two pink hearts near my snapshot. I love these snapshots of Macie, with her favorite doll. Each day, she has a new name for her.  I cannot remember, what she decided to call her on this day. I think it was simply "baby girl!" 

I now need to concentrate on a project that is due tomorrow. So I hope you have a wonderful night, and a great start to your Tuesday! 




 

Adorable {and ever so sweet} My Mind's Eye

Good Thursday morning!
Here is another page using My Mind's Eye Lost & Found . On this page I used a sweet snapshot of my son Roman, when he was two years old! He loved Cowboy hats, and I am so glad I captured this sweet moment!

What I love most about these papers, are the titles already printed directly onto the cardstock! Before I begin a page, I always think of my title first. So sometimes, it is nice when the work is already done for you. (especially when it describes exactly what you feel)
"Adorable {and ever so sweet}

My embellishments were really kept to a minimum on this page. I layered a few different elements, and tucked behind my snapshot. I also used a large chipboard bracket, covered with paper, and stamped the top of the bracket, with a Musical Note background stamp.
Added details were added on the button, in the lower left hand corner. The button is layered with two different size circles, and a brad is attached through the center of the button.

Here I added layers, by combining a small, circle embellishment from the Lost & Found Brad Set, with a stamped circle, layered on top of an embossed larger circle. This is the folder I used to create the additional texture on the page:

It is called Tim Holtz Alterations Collection {Dot Matrix & Gridlock Set}. I used the gridlock folder on the circle, and on the note diecut. On the large circle, I used two different stamps to create the image) I tucked all of these fabulous layers right behind my snapshot! As the finishing detail, I also tucked a playing card image, within the different layers.

The morning is about to shine in a few hours, so I better turn off my computer now.

Simply Perfect {in every way} My Mind's Eye DT

Happy Wednesday!
I wanted to share the following scrapbook page, I created for my first post with My Mind's Eye. Next, to the Haunted Collection, my favorite line from Lost & Found is the Market Street. I love the black on the kraft papers. The bits of red throughout, and of course, the glitter! I love that a few of the papers, and bits of the embellishments, were covered in glitter. While I was creating, I felt a celebration was going on, with all the glitter falling around me! 

I used a snapshot of Gabriela from two years ago. It is amazing to see how much my baby girl has changed. Here she still looks like a young child, and now she seems more grown up to me. One day, we were out shopping just the two of us. She was trying on clothes. I believe it was at American Eagle. I literally began to cry, as she was trying on jeans, and a grey top. Right there in the middle of the fitting rooms, here I am crying! She seemed so different to me in that moment. There was a Mom with four girls, yes four girls! She came to me, and hugged me! I felt so silly. Who knows why this happened? I think the young salesgirl, was scared of me. Of course, I think I did a great job of embarrassing Gabi! LOL 

Anyway, I digress. (I have always wanted to write that!) LOL I love saying this, and I know of a few people that cringe when they hear me say it! Here is my page...........
"Simply Perfect" {in every way}


She really is perfect in every way!  She is beautiful on the outside, as she is in the inside! The premade title diecut was a perfect match!

a couple of details:


I love this weathered parcel tag, and tucked it behind the title. I dyed the tag in tea, and with a couple of distressing inks, inked the edges. I made a few to have in my stash! I love tags on my pages! I stamped the front of the tag with a large Bingo Background stamp. 


Here I made a medium size pleated flower measuring 1 1/2in. by 12in. I layered this on top of two different size scallop flowers. Finished the top of the pleated flower with another small scallop flower, button, and black/white twine string.
One of my favorite things to alter, are premade embellishments. Sometimes, it can be so subtle, where other times, I can pull all the layers apart! The small flower embellishment is part of the Lost & Found Collection, but I simply added a small, red scallop, on the back. An easy way to add more layers, and details to your projects!

Of course, added a bit of stamping to this page, too. The "just lovely" is stamped on a small ticket. that I punched out. I also stamped the ticket, with an outline stamp, and a small diamond border stamp. An easy way, to embellish, is to simply stamp!

Feeling a little bit "fancy" today........

On Sunday, I received an email asking me to join the Fancy Pants Design Team! I was completely surprised! I still cannot believe it. I wanted to tell someone so badly, to make sure I had read the email correctly! LOL
So, my husband was the lucky one! (Thanks, sweetie!)

Five Days, Five Haunting Halloween Projects {Day 5}"Bewitched Halloween Banner"

Happy Monday morning!
Okay, I know Day 5: of Five Days, Five Haunting Halloween Projects is a little late in posting. However, I had to wait until it was posted on the fabulous My Mind's Eye Blog.

This banner was created with My Mind's Eye Haunted Collection. I told you it was one of my faves this year!


One of my favorite projects, is creating a banner. I love adding handmade details to my decor. I love the added texture, and character it can give to the holidays! (already working on a Christmas one, too!)

Now, this banner does have a little bit of this & that. I included some journaling tags from Maya Road, and used some of my Quickutz Halloween dies! Of course, there is a whole lot of stamping, and inking throughout! 

The stamped bats in the corner, are from an older SEI Halloween Collection. One of my favorites go to techniques, is stamping! I do have quite a good inventory, but if you invest in only a few, you will reach for them time after time. They add so much to a project, and are easy way to "embellish, without breaking the bank!
While I was kiting for this banner I found my new favorite black ink:
American Crafts Pigment Black Ink

It is such a deep, and rich color! I purchased this ink a few weeks ago, and brought it to my class. I wish I had opened it earlier! Everyone loved it! When you first use this ink pad, it will be very juicy. Stamp your image, and set aside to dry for a few seconds. Trust me, it is worth the wait!

 

This spooky tree is my favorite. It is also from Quickutz.


Project would not be complete without paper roses! 

I know, I used ALOT of brads!! I was not sure the direction this panel was taking, but I loved the end result. Adds a bit of eeriness to the project, don't you think?


The beautiful flocked artwork on the papers, made planning the foundation easy! I tied the panels together with black string, and black tulle! Banners are the perfect finishing details to your holiday decor. A small canvas with lots of possibilities!

Cupcake {Love} Pebbles DT

Good Friday morning!
First, thank you for your "sweet" comments on my blog, facebook, and the My Mind's Eye Blog. I truly appreciate each, and every one!! 
Today,it is Free For All on the Pebbles Blog! The following project went up on the blog today, along with two amazing layouts from the other designers!

Cupcake {love}


The designer challenge was a "free for all"!  Well, more than likely, I will reach for a frame, or two! I used the Twitterpated Collection from Pebbles.  This collection is oh so pink, and ever so girly! The perfect paper to create a 5x7 panel to tuck inside a frame!

My girls love cupcakes, well who does not? Lol So I created a panel, with a large cupcake as the center of my project! This was so simple to create, and it is now a fabulous addition to my girls' room.

The frame is from Target. It also comes in black, which I used for my Christmas Frames last year. I love this frame, because of all the beautiful distressing. 
I cut a 5x7 piece of chipboard, and covered it with denim fabric. (still loving fabric on my projects) I then began layering patterning paper to house the large cupcake diecut. The cupcake is from the Sweet Treats Cricut Cartridge. Really simple, and my girls love it!

My Mind's Eye Design Team ♥

Good morning!

I wanted to share some very happy scrapbooking news with you! I have enjoyed two wonderful weeks, of guest designing for one of my favorite companies, My Mind's Eye! Well, I am beyond excited to share ,that I have been asked to be a permanent design team member!!!  {Insert BIG HAPPY SMILE}
I cannot believe it, and my mind has been in the clouds, the last couple of days! LOL
