It is almost 2009!! I thought I would share a few photos from our Christmas Holiday.
I wanted to show you cookie jars that I embellished and filled with my yummy Oatmeal Cookies. Very simple, but I loved the way they turned out. I am going to do something similar for Valentine's Day.
Here are couple of more closeups:
They were quick and fun to make. I will have to share a new scrapbooking toy that I promised myself that I would not buy! However, once I started playing with it, I knew I had to have it! I used the excuse that since I do not have my full inventory of scrapbooking supplies, this was a necessity!!! I did get a good deal, so it helped me justify the purchase.
We celebrated Christmas in the wee hours of the morning. We did not go to bed until 3:30am! I was so busy wrapping gifts, assisting with tamales, and trying to hide gifts from the children. Here is a photo of me in the tamale process.
They were tiresome to make, but the outcome was delish! However, why my parents decided to make about a million, I will never understand! LOL
My brother and his girlfriend were also making tamales, but in San Antonio. We were disappointed that they were not here, but knew they would arrive in the morning. My Mom was upset, but is trying to cope that her "baby boy", has another family! Sorry Mom!
I will share some photos from the night and morning!
Roman sampling the milk and cookies left for Santa!
Roman upset that he has to share the camera with his sisters!
My beautiful girls!
Roman with one of his gifts. I cannot remember how many times I had to say "NO" to him, every time we passed by this toy at KOHLS.
Roman with his sweater. He saw this sweater at Gap Kids and wanted it very badly. Steve did not believe me when I told him, that Roman truly wanted this sweater from Santa. I have now had to hide this sweater, because he refused to take it off for several days!
Gabi with the thing she loves most, comfy clothes!
Macie loved her dressup dress and shoes. She also received a cute Disney vanity. She is ready to be a princess at any given notice.
My Mom with the thing she loves most, roosters! How am I going to hide this thing?
Mandy with an item she really wanted for her kitchen.
As I stated in another post. Steve really spoiled me this Christmas. He surprised me with things I love! One of them being the Kindle! I love purses, but books come in a close second. If you are an avid reader, this is a must have. I cannot put this item away. It is really like a cell phone. You can download books instantly. A truly awesome thing!!! Go
hereAnd check them out!
Steve really put a lot of thought and time in each of my gifts. He is the best!
My brother on Christmas Day. So happy to have him around!
My two favorite men.
Michelle and my brother. Their baby is due in three weeks. We cannot wait for the newest addition to our family.
This year the three siblings, decided to buy my parents some really nice gifts. Not that in years past, we have done a bad job. They each have had that one little thing on their wish list.
Here is my Dad with his newest toy, a Nail Gun. He has complained for years about not having one. I think what finally convinced us to buy this thing, was that he refused to nail one more thing! He kept hitting his fingernail over and over. We got the hint Dad!
The item my Mother has wanted for a long time. A small flat screen TV for her kitchen. Her reaction made it all worthwhile!
It was a wonderful holiday! I am so glad we were able to be together. Steve was here and sadly, he had to leave today. We spent some great time watching movies, eating at yummy restaurants, fishing, and just hanging out! It is always difficult to say goodbye, but this time was the hardest for me. However, I am here with my kids and we are going to ring the New Year together. My bottle of Champagne is being chilled and there are movies to be seen.
My sister is at home with the flu, so I will have to call her. My parents are in San Antonio helping my brother remodel a room for the new baby. My father is happily nailing away!!
Steve has arrived safely in California. I can now go and relax.
Here is to you and your family. Have a Happy New Year. I am going to take time to "PLAY", in the New Year!
