Mother's Day Card & Glassine Bag {Duetica}

Hi, everyone!

It is a rainy, and damp, today. A perfect day to stay inside, and catch up on the many to do's that need attention today. With Mother's Day right around the corner, thought this was the perfect opportunity to be ahead this year on my gift. I created the following card, and sweet bag for my Mother. It may even reach her prior to the acutal day!


This card uses the Duetica font, Woodwynds! A favorite of mine, and a perfect fit for the new  collection, Sweet Afternoon by Teresa Collins. I love anything pink, and it looks so soft with the touches of grey.

Here is the detail of my simple sentiment: Happy Mother's Day. I think this helps to get my message across to my fabulous Mom. I miss her so much, and wish I lived close to her.{Sigh}

A Mother's Day Card needs a pretty bag to house a gift certificate, and maybe a chocolate, or too.

This bag also uses the Duetica Woodwynd's font for my sentiment along the bottom. I also typed a single letter to create a monogram. My mom's name is Mary, and thought this gave it a more formal touch.

Here is detail of the sentiment I typed used Woodwynds. I love all the curls, and twist. Perfect to enhance the fun party garland along the bottom of the bag. What I love most about Duetica, is that they give you so many different options for each letter than the traditional font!

Off to CHA Anaheim 2012

Hi, everyone!
Okay, I think this has been the busiest time for me in terms of CHA preparations! In about a week, and a half, I created five scrapbook pages, six altered projects, and two mini albums! I also held a tag class on Thursday night! A big thank you to the ladies taking the class! We had so much fun, and they each bought an additional kit, so they could have a set of tags for themselves! LOL So, again thank you!!! Those that did purchase kits, they will be at the store on Wednesday. I do have a few to mail out, and will do that in the morning. 

However, I will admit I was so tired. After dropping off my projects on Saturday, I came home around 5pm. I intended to sleep for just an hour, but did not wake up until 7am the next day! I woke up in such a panic, because Macie had a cheer competition. Luckily, there was plenty of time, but I  could not believe I slept that long. I do feel well rested, and here I am wide awake at 1am in the morning! LOL

So today was spent in Long Beach watching Macie perform! She did amazing! Her team received fifth place out of ten teams. I thought they deserved a bit higher, but of course, I am going to say this! LOL I did work for a few hours at Timeless, and then off I went to have dinner with the lovely owners of Duetica. So nice to see them, and to meet other designers on the team. On that note, here is a Valentine's Day card I created using the Mandolyn font:


I love this font, and never tire using it. It is one of my December projects. I am a bit behind in my blogging, and hope to catch up soon. Next week, I will share the projects created for January. I know, again, a bit behind over here. Definitely, check out the Duetica Blog for tons of inspiration from the other designers!

I do have many projects to share, and will do so soon. However, I will be taking the next three days off to be at the trade show. I cannot wait to see all the new product, amazing projects, and to reconnect with some of my online friends!

love you more & more- Scrapbook Page {Duetica}

Happy Thursday everyone!
I wanted to share a page I created for Duetica. This was part of my December projects, and yes, I am a bit behind in sharing this page. Soon, I will have my January projects to share, too. 

This page uses October Afternoon's Sidewalks collection. I fell in love with this collection when we received it at Timeless. I bought a few sheets, and could not wait to make a page with it. I paired the Duetica Mandolyn font, with a Cricut title using the Graphically Speaking cartridge to create a bold title onto my page.

a couple of details:

Here is a closer look at part of my title. I used the beautiful Mandolyn font, and mixed in a simple verdana font. I love the combination of the two, and the ability to create my own titles. The combination of the computer generated title, and the diecut title, added so much interest to my page. This page is of Macie, so I wanted a title that would create some movement to my page. Just like her personality, she is always on the move, and cannot sit still for a minute.

The word, more, was also cut from the graphically speaking cartridge. I embellished the center with a layer of vellum, and a chipboard flower. 

I knew I wanted to include her age on the page, so again I turned to my Cricut. A simple stitch, and chipboard heart embellished it perfectly.


I also created a flower punched from one of my favorite punches at the moment. I punched several circles from various patterned papers to create the playful flower. I then embellished it with a premade penant, and some twine.

One final detail, and my first time to actually attempt it, was stitching across all three of the chipboard banners. I did not have any problems, and I simply went really slow as I stitch. It worked, and I really liked the way it turned out!

Now, I am off to a meeting, and then back to my scrapbook room. I am in the midst of creating for CHA,so there are pop dots flying everywhere! LOL I hope to share my projects soon!

Baby it's cold outside {Duetica Woodwynds Font} New Release

It is Wednesday, and honestly I do not know where the time is going! I did start a new job. It is only seasonal at the moment. I am starting to really enjoy it, so I am hoping they keep me on after the holidays.However, with the new job in the mix, I am trying to learn a new routine all over again. I have not had much time to scrapbook, but I do have some free time this weekend. I am planning a day of scrapbooking after church on Sunday. Oh, and of course, after Roman's basketball game. So I am looking forward to a day of being productive, and simply having time to do something I love.

Today, I do have a scrapbook page created with Duetica's new font called Woodwynds. The design team had an opportunity to play with it, before its release. You can now purchase it, by clicking here. Once I saw this whimiscal font, I knew it would be perfect with the Winter Wonder by Bella Blvd. I do not have many snow photos living in California. So this photo is about three years old, and now that I look at it, I may have already scrapbooked it! LOL That is okay, I love it, and wish my daughter was this young all over again.

A closeup of the Woodwynds font, and all the different swishes, you can choose from. Once I saw font, it reminded me of snow! I love how it creates movement alongside the snow pattern of the papers. 

A detail of my journaling tag. I used the word stickers from the Winter Wonder collection for my journaling. Super easy, and it conveyed what I needed to on this page. 

Okay, time for me to be productive in my scrapbook room. I have not been in here, in about ten days. Well, it seems that way to me! LOL I need to spend some time cleaning, so when I return later today, I can get in some scrapbooking time.

Halloween Paper Treat Bags {Duetica}

Hi, everyone!

I know Halloween has come, and gone! I cannot believe we are already in November. However, because I was not able to post these last month, thought it would be okay to share them today. These treat bags were part of my Ocotber assignment for Duetica.

I created these treat bags for friends, and teachers. I simply took a paper bag, and embellished the front to create a fun way to package candy bars. I used mini paper bags last year, but needed something a bit bigger for the adults. Afer all, everyone loves candy!

Halloween Treat Bags:


I have been holding onto this Halloween collection by Making Memories, and love how the color combination looked with the kraft lunch bags. My children take their snacks in lunch bags, so I have a lot of these on hand. I cut down a bunch of these, and also took time to create some Christmas ones, too. Super fast, and they make for fun packaging.


Here are three of them together. Sorry for the bad photo. I had a hard time photographing these together! I kept the design all the same, so it would be faster to assemble. The Duetica font, I used for my sentiment is the
DT Floot. I love all the paint splashes in this font. I used it to accent the letter "o's" in my sentiment.


A closer look at the font! I love playing with the design studio feature, I have control over each individual letter. It was perfect for my Halloween sentiment.

Here is a closer look of the embellishing on the bottom. I did a lot of stitching on this fun project. I am not a seamstress, so do not look too closely! LOL

Merry Christmas {Fa La La La} Duetica

Good morning!
I have another card to share with you using the Duetica Riley Font. This font is definitely one I enjoy working with on my cards. After completing my mini album, I was left with wonderful leftover scraps! I was able to complete this card pretty quickly with the elements left behind. I love creating Christmas Projects, and it can be any month for me! I love the Peppermint Collection from Crate Paper. For me, it is filled with elements of a traditional Christmas. Love the colors!

Trick or Treat {Duetica Tin Whistle Font}

Stars & Stripes Altered Frame {Duetica}

With Fourth of July around the corner, I decided to create this simple frame for the upcoming holiday. This project using the Duetica Font, DT Floot. I am having fun playing with the fonts available, and love that I can used them on my paper projects. Super easy, and lots of fun.

I simply selected my font, and printed on the red strips of cardstock. I added a little bling to the bottom of the project.

It has been a busy week for us! I thought I was on summer vacation. What happened to the lazy days, I was dreaming about? LOL Maybe, next Monday I will find them, maybe..... 

Duetica {Sweet Graduate Card}

Happy Monday! 
Last week, we attended a graduation party for a special young lady! My Macie absolutely adores Michaela, and I am sad to know she is moving to Hawaii for college. She was an assistant coach on Macie's team, and we are so blessed to have met her through cheer. She will definitely be missed!

I created this card for her using the Duetica font, Mandolyn, for the sentiment.{my favorite Duetica font} The papers are by Teresa Collins. I added vellum to soften the card, and of course, a bold butterfly.
