Don't You Ever Grow Up {Crate Mini Album}

Happy Tuesday!

I am still recovering from CHA, and trying to settle into a routine. After CHA, Macie had a cheer competition in Palm Springs, and Roman had two games. First, he played his first scrimmage game in baseball, and played immediately in a basketball playoff game. His team won, so they now move on to another exciting game this weekend. It is never boring around here!

I do have many projects to share with you, so today I thought I would begin with a mini album I created for CHA using Pretty Party by Crate.I love the subdued colors of this collection. The papers are lovely, and perfect for documenting the special girls in your life. This collection definitely has a party theme to it, but the papers are really perfect for any theme, too!

So, I have been wanting to create a book with photos of Macie that I simply love. She is my youngest, and it makes me so sad to not see my "little" girl anymore.  I picked some of my favorite photos, and placed them into this book. You may recognize a few. Actually, last year I began a mini with a similar theme, but never finished it. So, at least now I was able to get them all into one book.

Now, I did not have much time to complete this book. I had a very quick turnaround to deliver this book. Also, I only had stickers, chipboard elements, and paper. The gorgeous embellishments were not available to us, so I am definitely looking forward in receiving them.

Here is a closeup of the cover. For my title, I simply used Duetica's Mandolyn font. Thought the script font went perfectly with the theme of my book. I used the sweet strawberry chipboard, and embellished it with a fabric brad from an older Crate collection. The last bit of details surrounding the oval chipboard frame are the stick pins, and a small tag punched from one of the coordination papers.

Here is the inside cover. I kept it simple, just so everyone could see how sweet the papers are in this collection. 

My sweet Macie in ponytails! Rarely, will she wear her hair this way. Sigh. Makes me sad, but glad to have this photo. Here, I used a journaling tag to layer the floral embellishemnt. I added a bit of stamping using a Catslife press stamp. I sneaked in buttons from an older Crate Collection onto the page.

Throughout the book you will see hints of vellum. I cannot scrapbook without it, and here there is a circle layer of vellum underneath the flower.

Do not look too closely to the stiching! LOL However, I  do love using envelopes in my mini books, and love the doily against the texture. This collection has very soft colors, so felt hearts went well with the book.

On this page, I documented this photo of Macie having a party with her bears. I love the chipboard cake stand, and layered the chipboard presents on top. It is a party, so I sprinkled confetti onto the page.

I think this page was perhaps my favorite. I do like that I layered more of the papers, and love the alphabet embossing folder I used on this page.  

For my last page, I created a vellum pocket that I used to tuck in a photo, and some journaling. I love the alphabet embossing folder on the vellum, so tucked in small piece inside for added detail.

4ever Valentine Banner {Fancy Pants It's the Little Things} New Release

One of the highlights from CHA was meeting the owner of Fancy Pants, Jodi Sanford! She is so sweet, adorable, and kind of enough to pose for a snapshot with me! I will admit, I was tentative as we approached the booth. I was afraid my projects may not have arrived in time. However, the post office assured me my package would arrive. This was the first time to have my projects displayed at CHA, so as I rounded the corner, and saw Miss Macie's face, I was relieved! It was safe to walk into the booth! LOL

Here is one snapshot of the home decor item I created with To the Moon. (my project is in the right hand corner, among all the other cute projects from other designers)

  Jodi Sanford, and me in front of my Valentine banner. I created the banner using the new Fancy Pants Collection, called It's the Little Things. This collection just makes you happy!!! It is absolutely perfect for documenting the sweet moments in your life. One of my favorite papers is the one with the deck of cards. Also you are going to want to buy the embellishment pack, it is complete with all the little details you will need for the finishing touches!
 
4ever Valentine Banner

 A few of the banner details: (I apologize if photos are not as crisp, trying to make it to the post office)

 
I added glitter to many parts of  the banner, by adding touches of sparkle. (I will share how I did  this soon.)

These are called filters! How smart was this new embellishment! They are similar to coffee filters, and you can do so much with them. They are part of the New Artist Edition Series. Here I used Tattered Angels Chalkboard Mist in Cotton Candy to cover them. Then you probably know by now, by go to technique is embossing. Yes, these can  be embossed to give even more texture to your projects! Love, love them!

  
Here I used the filters again to create layers, and layers of hearts. They look so pretty stacked on top of one another. 

 

Once again the filters were misted with Cotton Candy, and rolled to create two roses.
 

More sparkle, and a whole lot of cuteness in their embellishments!

Here is another used for the filters. I simply attached two together, and sewed them to create a pocket. I tucked some of the smaller tickets inside.

You are so beautiful to me {Stella Rose My Mind's Eye}

Have you seen Stella Rose by My Mind's Eye?? 

I love the shabby chic feel of this collection! The floral patterns are simply so girly, and perfect for documenting your girls! My favorite element of this collection are the "Girly" stamps! Love all the different size doilies.

This  snapshot was taken on one of Macie's back to school nights! I remember how difficult it was for me to take just one picture of her! She was so excited, and could not wait to go to her school!

The doily floral paper inspired me to stamp my own flowers! I could not believe I was able to match the ink perfectly!The cluster of the three flowers were created with the "Girly" stamp. I layered two different flowers on top of one another, and finished with a brad from the same collection. The stamp is definitely a must have!
This collection is so beautiful, and I love the weight of the papers! One of the many reasons, I have always been drawn to their papers!

Pebbles Inc. CHA {Sneak Peeks}

I absolutely love this time of year! Many of the Manufacturer's Blogs are releasing snapshots of upcoming scrapbooking product. I have already compiled a list, and of course, Pebbles is at the very top!!
They have done it once again with three brand new lines!

How fun is this paper??? This collection is perfect for your beloved pet! I wish I had a cat, because I love the cat paper. (I am allergic to cats, however.)

CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) 2010

The Girls Paperie by Margie Romney Aslett, was perhaps my favorite booth of CHA!  My favorite color, pink, was in every corner! As I mentioned, before it just made you "happy" to be in her booth. I had an opportunity to take one of her classes at Timeless Treasures, a few years ago. She was a delight to be around, and you can see that she put her personality into her booth. I loved the decor, and of course, the product she designed!

Love the 7Gypsies Painters Tray. I bought a couple of these trays, to add cheerleading snapshots of my girls. I think I need to alter a football one, for Roman, too!

How beautiful are these paper flowers?  Absolutely, my favorite booth, and glad I was able to visit with her, too!

I did have the opportunity to meet a few designers too!

Suzy West was simply adorable! Her personality was contagious! Loved her class immensely! 
While I was browsing the Making Memories booth, I bumped into these fabulous ladies:

Laura Vegas, and Lynn Ghahary

Lynn is our Design Team Coordinator for Pebbles! She also designs for Collage Press. She is so talented as a scrapbook artist, and sweet, too!

I am so happy that I had an opportunity to meet Laura! She and I have e-mailed back and forth for a while now. So it was fabulous to have a few moments to chat with her!
She is so cute, and a talented scrapbook artist too! She designs for two of my favorite companies, Making Memories, and Jillibean Soup! She is also on the Creating Keepsake Dream Team!
Now another highlight for me was meeting this talented gal:

Amber Packer         

Amer is beautiful on the inside, as she is on the outside! She is blessed with such talent, and is simply amazing!!! She is the lead designer for My Mind's Eye! Her blog is one you will want to visit for pure inspiration! 
Here is the final detail of CHA, I would like to share:

The Adornit Booth! It was adorable, and there was plenty of detail to see in every corner. I am in love with their new lines that they debuted this year. And............I am happy to share with you I won an opportunity to Guest Design for them!!! I could not believe it when I saw my name on their blog!  A little nervous, but excited for this opportunity! Thank you Adornit!! Click here, to see their new releases!
I hope you enjoyed my CHA experience! It was incredible to be at a large venue with fabulous product, and amazing designers! The best part was spending it with my best friend! 
Thanks for stopping by today! All of my little kiddos are home sick today! They were fine on Saturday, and Sunday they were miserable. Gabi had a cheer competition this weekend, and as soon as she walked through the door, she went straight to bed! A few hours later, she came down with a temperature of 105! I was so scared, and almost made a trip to the emergency care. Luckily, we were able to bring down the fever. I was up until the wee hours of the morning, so I was able to work on my sidebars of my blog. I still need to update photos of my family, and more of my studio. However, there are a few inside, but a work in progress.
Hoping to find some creative time, later this evening! I hope you do too!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I know, I dropped the ball about the Scallop Flower tutorial. However, with CHA, I have been spending all my free time with my family. I will share my simple technique on Monday......(finally), along with a layout!
So before I go, here are a few more photos of CHA.
Have you heard of Nikki Sivils?  Take a look around her website.  I am sure you will agree that her designs are unique, and very distinctive.  I found out about her products, while on the internet. I was very happy to come across her booth, and have an opportunity to meet her. She is just darling. I am sad, that I did not take any photos of her darling booth. I was having fun speaking with her, and meeting a fellow Pebbles design team member,Susan Dupre! Susan is so friendly, and she is also from Texas!!! Nikki, gave Jeannette and I, a 12x12 package of her designer papers. How generous was that of her? Luckily, we have a photo together with Nikki:
 
Rumor has it that Timeless Treasures, in Orange County will be carrying her product!

LOL I will be spending a portion of Saturday, planning out our meals for the week, too. This is going to be even more important, with three children involved with sports.

Project Life & More CHA

It is here!  I have been patiently waiting for this brown box to arrive!! I am sure you have heard about this great idea, by Becky Higgins. As you may know, I am not a chronological scrapbooker.  I am inspired by my photos, and of course, the seasons play a part, too.  So this is a perfect way for me to document just a little bit of the year for my family.  I will never scrapbook fast enough for my children.  They love looking at their scrapbooks. So this is a perfect way for me to keep up with the day to day moments in our lives.  I take so many photos, as you probably do, too.  So this is a perfect, and simple way to get my pictures off of my computer, printed, and into an album.  I cannot wait to get started! CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) Day Two

Hi!!!  Yesterday, was another day of fun at CHA!!! I am just going to get right to it,and share with you a few photos from the show.
First, here is a look at one of my favorite Stamp companies, Unity Stamps. They have a kit club that you can subscribe too.  I love the feel of their stamps, and may have to subscribe too!

  

 

Speaking of Unity Stamps, I had the pleasure of meeting one of their design team members.  She was assisting at the My Little Shoe Box class. (She also designs for MLS, and many other companies, too!) She and I hit it off, instantly.  She is such a sweet gal, and has a colorful personality. Her name is Robyn Weatherspoon. You might recognize her, because of her inspiring work! I am so glad to have met her, and glad that we will now become online friends!  I was able to play with this new collection,  called the Lush collection. We created a beautiful album,with these papers.  I will share the final project in a future post. Once you see this, you are going to want it in every color! The feel of the cardstock,and the texture is simply gorgeous!

  

This was the make n take at the My Mind's Eye Booth. This is part of their new collection,and the brads make such a bold statement. (Paper flowers are the trend right now in scrapbooking, and you saw them at every booth!)
Okay, I cannot possibly show you every detail from the show. You probably have already seen tons of peeks online.  I will continue to show my favorite photos in future posts.  I will also set up a CHA album in Flicker with all the photos.(Thanks, Jeannette for this suggestion.)  I will let you know when I have done this.  Please remember they will be unedited,and go as is! I had an incredible two days, surrounded by all the things I love. Scrapbooking truly is a creative outlet for me. I am so blessed to be able to spend time on something that gives me such joy! I also met some wonderful people along the way! I enjoyed my time immensely with Jeannette, but I knew when she saw the Vespas in the Making Memories booth, we were going to have to do this:

Okay, I have had two days of play! Now I must spend some time, taking care of my beautiful family. My husband was kind of enough to take the kids with him to work on Sunday. Monday, I was blessed to have such caring friends, help  pick up my children from school, and take care of them.

CHA (Craft & Hobby Association) Day One

Good morning! Yesterday, I spent my day walking the floors at CHA!  I cannot even begin to tell you, all the wonderful products I saw!  I did take lots of photos, and I am going to share a few today, and more throughout the week. I was able to take a couple of classes in between the countless visits to the booths. I took a class on the Slice, and if you own one, you will be happy to know, it is going to become hands free!!! You will not need to buy another unit, just the collar. (I think that is the right term.)  There is a new and improved mat,and it will retail for about 39.95. I had the pleasure of meeting, Lindsay,our design team coordinator for Pebbles! She is such a delight, and is blessed with amazing graphic design talents! So I will begin with a few photos from, Pebbles! I am in love with everything!
